Stories of patients with long term durable responses to cell and gene therapies make headlines in the media and bring hope to patients in need of treatment options. However, getting new Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products (ATMPs) from the research lab to the reality of the patient bedside, relies not only on a robust and scalable cell manufacturing process, but also on successful navigation of the regulatory environment and an engaged and supportive ATMP community.
As stakeholders with a shared vision of creating momentum in accelerating access to ATMPs in the Nordics, Flemingsberg Science Foundation, Karolinska ATMP-centrum and Miltenyi Biotec Nordics are proud to host an educational seminar aimed at highlighting challenges and opportunities in getting new ATMPs from concept to clinic. Flemingsberg continues to be a natural choice for knowledge-intensive and innovative businesses. OptiCell Solutions is a company that recently launched its operations at Novum Labs on Campus Flemingsberg. Founded in 2024 by specialists from Karolinska University Hospital and entrepreneurs from the Life Science industry, the company specializes in improving the availability of high-quality target cells for cell and gene therapies, a critical component of the growing ATMP (Advanced Therapy Medicinal Products) sector.
A Groundbreaking for 800 New Student and Research Apartments at Campus Flemingsberg
Today, the first groundbreaking was held for Byggvesta and EQT Exeter's 800 new student and research apartments right in the knowledge-intensive Campus Flemingsberg, with the business community just outside the door.
Welcoming more culture and creative industries to a growing place
On August 29, the Royal Swedish Opera and the Swedish National Dramatic Theatre opened their new studios in Flemingsberg with a festive mix of song, poetry and inspiring conversations about collaboration. The opening marks an important milestone in Flemingsberg's development and brings us one step closer to the vision of creating a place where knowledge and creativity meet in southern Stockholm.
