Become a qualified music pedagogue or logonomist
The Stockholm University College of Music Education, SMI, is a higher education institution offering pedogogical education primarily in music, voice and speech, as well as within dance and movement.
SMI provides undergraduate teacher education in music (majoring in instrument/song, music creation or stage poetry) and logonomy (voice and speech pedagogy). SMI also offers free-standing courses in the fields of music and related arts education. Our programmes are firmly rooted in professional knowledge and research with pedogogical, artistic career-orientated education from competent and experienced teaching staff.
Graduates from the Music Pedagogy program are qualified for teaching in arts schools and other institutions that offer volitional music teaching. Logonomists work on all aspects and in all contexts where the voice is an expressional tool, including voice training and sustainability, verbal communication, and with voice and speech performance.
