KTH: addressing global societal challenges
Since its foundation in 1827, KTH Royal Institute of Technology in Stockholm has become one of Europe’s leading technical and engineering universities and a key arena for knowledge development. As Sweden’s largest university for technical research and education, we bring together students and researchers from all over the world.
KTH in Flemingsberg offers foundation courses in civil engineering and university engineering courses in medical technology, as well as three-year engineering courses in computer technology, electrical engineering and technology and economics. We also provide a technical foundation year and several master’s courses.
Our medical technology courses are closely co-ordinated with Karolinska University Hospital, which is located next to KTH. Our three-year university engineering courses include substantial amounts of course work that will be advantageous later in your career whether you plan to maintain Sweden’s electricity supply or develop other vital applications.
A significant proportion of the research and education conducted in Flemingsberg is focused on identifying new, smarter solutions to global societal challenges, for example in health, ageing populations, energy and sustainable working life.
In 2016, KTH moved into brand new premises with modern, well-lit study rooms. The mix of courses creates a diverse student life in a vibrant study environment.
