Idun Lovén School of Art
The school is owned and run by artists. All teachers are actively performing artists. The teaching is characterized by a pedagogy based on the teachers’ own concrete artistic knowledge and experience, which guarantees close and continuous contact with contemporary art development.
The art school Idun Lovén offers two two-year educational lines, one for sculpture and one for painting. The goal of the education is to develop the student’s ability to create and think for his own, and to prepare for further studies at art colleges or for other creatively oriented education. The school has a total of 48 students, which are divided into 32 painting and 16 sculpture students. Approximately 24 new students are accepted for each new academic year.
From the autumn term of 2019, the school operates as an arts and cultural education in premises connected to Campus Flemingsberg. The move will modernize the school premises and collaboration with Södertörn University will create good conditions for the Art School Idun Lovén to continue to develop.
